Welcome to our Three Rivers Carousel web site. The Three Rivers Carousel is a  Tri-City community project benefiting the greater Pasco, Kennewick, Richland and West Richland communities. The carousel is scheduled to open with a gift shop, carousel museum, meeting rooms and conference rooms. All are welcome to participate and help with funding and volunteer efforts as with the 'Playground of Dreams'

Our vision of the Three Rivers Carousel is to garnish the Tri-Cities area with a wonderful historical landmark that will provide a place for families, friends and sweethearts of all ages to come and have a great time. Whether you plan to pack a picnic lunch, or purchase a snack at the Carousel, be sure to bring your whole family down to the river shore for a great afternoon or evening. The Three Rivers Carousel will stand as an authentic historical landmark and enduring symbol of community cooperation and pride. Whether it is a family reunion, wedding, birthday party, or company picnic, there will be plenty of space and facilities available.

After the official kickoff festivities, the Three Rivers Carousel committee set up this display at our own Columbia Center Mall. About half of our carousel horses were on display; primed and ready for detailing and paint. Marianne Stevens was also present, visiting with passers by and signing her book, Painted Ponies. Ken Johanning, vice president of the Three Rivers Carousel Foundation , says that we have acquired all of the remaining Painted Ponies books from the publisher, and soon this magnificent book will go into reprint.

Bette Largent and Sue Wilson, of Spokane, Washington, are doing the restoration and painting of all of our 45 original Carmel horses. Bette is a carousel expert, and the author of Paint The Ponies. This is one of the first two horses that were completed by Sue and are now being shown around the Tri-City area. Visit our photo gallery to view a larger version of this photo.
